The Hot Sauce Battle: Sriracha on Top November 7th, 2007 · No Comments

Sriracha comes out as the winner of the funkrocks Hot Sauce Battle. It won the popular vote as a result of its versatility and all around taste. To celebrate this sauce, I made a Sriracha Bloody Mary.

Start with a pint glass filled with ice and add:
1-2 Teaspoons Sriracha
1-2 Teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 Teaspoon Prepared Horseradish
Small Pinch Black Pepper
Pinch Celery Salt
Juice from 1 Lime Wedge
Fill rest of pint with Tomato Juice

Shake it up and add more celery salt to the rim of the glass. Garnish with celery.

This recipe is from High Bastard.

I guess the Tapatio fans out there are not too happy that their sauce wasn’t entered in the competition, but I honestly don’t think it stood a chance against Tabasco and Sriracha. However, I discovered that a 50/50 mix of Sriracha and Tapatio makes a great sauce for Mexican Food.
