Trillian, Adium, and Pidgin lookout. There is a new All-in-One Instant Messenger Client and it combines IM, Email and Social Networking.
Digsby can access both Myspace and Facebook Newsfeeds and Messengers. Take warning though; Digsby will constantly lure you back to these sites with its live updates. This makes social networking even harder to avoid, but it is very convenient for getting compressed updates from your networks. Digsby also supports Twitter which is a microblogging network.
Digsby also aggregates your emails from various clients and notifies you of incoming messages with live updates. Plus, the updates look pretty snazzy when they pop up on the screen.
Supported Instant Messenger Services: AIM, MSN, Yahoo, Google Talk, Facebook, ICQ, Jabber
Supported Email Providers: Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail, POP, IMAP, AOL, AIM Mail
Supported Social Networking Sites: Facebook, Myspace, Twitter
So for now, Digsby is the “IT” messenger client of the moment, but it won’t be long until someone one-ups them. I’ll just be waiting for Digsby to make a Windows Mobile Application.
